We care

By law, captured wildlife must be euthanized under certain circumstances. Some pest control companies don't like to tell you that, but it is unfortunately true. If you have a problem with animals, be certain that the company you choose uses a humane method to dispatch wildlife. Let me tell you why.

There is a lady known only as S.M. who was born without a functioning amygdala. The amygdala tells your brain what to be scared of. Without it, S.M. was unable to show any fear of danger. She was able to handle poisonous snakes and watch scary movies without showing any signs of fear. One time she was mugged at knife point and instead of being terrified, she threatened the mugger with revenge. She had never experienced any kind of fear in her life until her doctors performed one last test. They had her breathe concentrated carbon dioxide which fooled her autonomic responses into believing that she was being suffocated. The fear of suffocation is the most primal fear, and it bypasses the amygdala. For the first time in her life S.M. was terrified.

Some pest control companies use carbon dioxide to euthanize problem wildlife, but as you can see from the case of S.M., this invokes a very primal fear and the animal is terrified for the last several minutes of it's life. It's as scary as drowning, but it takes longer.  If they were to use nitrogen or helium or other more humane methods, this terror response would not happen. But carbon dioxide is much cheaper than nitrogen or helium. So always ask the company what method they use, and if you care about animals like we do, avoid those who use CO2.
Unfortunately at this time we do not offer wildlife services, however as we grow, we are looking to expand into this service.
